1. Who We Are
AI Gardener is operated by Sodalis AI LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), a Texas limited liability company. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the AI Gardener iOS application.

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
Account information
When you sign in with Apple, Apple may share your name and email address with us — or a private relay email address if you choose to hide your real email. We store only what Apple provides.
Garden profile
To personalise your experience, we ask for: your city or neighbourhood, garden type and size, sun exposure, plant categories of interest, and experience level. This is the core of how AI Gardener works — every response uses this context.
Conversations
Your chat messages and the AI's responses are stored so we can maintain continuity across sessions and build a picture of your garden over time. Conversation history is summarised periodically to manage storage efficiently. We also extract garden-adjacent signals from your conversations — such as how directly you communicate, your confidence with plants, and the types of concerns you tend to raise — to adapt how the AI responds to you. These signals are used only to personalise your experience and are never surfaced to you separately or shared with third parties.
Photos
If you use the plant diagnosis feature, photos you take or upload are sent to our backend for analysis. Photos are stored temporarily and deleted after 90 days.
2.2 Information We Collect Automatically
Usage data
We collect anonymised data about how you interact with the app — which features you use, session frequency, and similar product interaction data. This data is not linked to your identity. EU/EEA/UK users may manage their analytics preferences in Settings → Privacy. See §3 for the legal basis applicable to your region.
Crash and performance reports
If the app crashes or performs poorly, we collect technical diagnostic data (device model, OS version, error stack trace). This does not include your personal information or conversation content.

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data to build advertising profiles.
4. How We Share Your Information
We share data only with service providers that help us operate AI Gardener. Each is contractually bound to use your data only for the services they provide to us.

Regarding Anthropic: Chat messages you send are processed by Anthropic's Claude API to generate responses. Per Anthropic's Commercial Terms of Service, Anthropic may not train its models on customer API inputs. Your conversations are not used to train AI models.
Regarding weather data: AI Gardener displays weather alerts sourced from national weather agencies (including the US National Weather Service) via OpenWeatherMap. These alerts may be delayed or incomplete. Always verify life-safety weather alerts directly with your local authority or weather.gov.
We do not share your data with data brokers, advertisers, or any party for marketing purposes.

When you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
6. Your Rights
All users:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your account and associated data (available in Settings → Delete Account)
- Request a copy of your data by contacting privacy@sodalis-ai.com — we will provide it in a structured, commonly used format within 30 days
California residents (CCPA):
You have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, to request deletion, and to opt out of the "sale" of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
EU/EEA/UK residents (GDPR/UK GDPR):
In addition to the rights above, you have the right to object to processing, to restrict processing, and to data portability. Our lawful basis for processing core service data is contract performance. For analytics, our lawful basis is legitimate interest; you may opt out at any time in Settings → Privacy. You may withdraw consent for any consent-based processing at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@sodalis-ai.com or use the Delete Account option in Settings.
7. Children's Privacy
AI Gardener is intended for users aged 16 and older. Users in jurisdictions where the age of digital consent is lower than 16 may use the app from age 13 with parental or guardian consent. The app includes an age gate at signup — users who indicate they are below the applicable minimum age are blocked from creating an account.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable minimum age. If you believe a child below the applicable minimum age has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@sodalis-ai.com and we will delete it promptly.
8. Security
We protect your data using industry-standard measures: JWT tokens stored in the iOS Keychain (not UserDefaults), encrypted HTTPS connections for all data in transit, and Supabase Row Level Security policies that ensure each user can only access their own data.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please contact us at security@sodalis-ai.com.
9. Changes to This Policy
We will notify you of material changes to this policy by updating the "Last updated" date and, where required by law, by sending you a notification through the app or by email. Continued use of AI Gardener after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
